In today’s day and age being a professional means you need the best of the best. How do you keep up with the technology? For starters you need a big budget, the access to the latest and greatest, and the ability to learn new gizmos. What does this mean for our environment? Chances are the old equipment is usually obsolete and getting rid of it is pretty difficult. The demise of the out dated technology is usually the dump. What if I told you that you could not only make your own “latest and greatest technology” but also make it out of repurposed materials making your carbon footprint just a little smaller. Today we will be checking out Make Magazines take on a Macro Photography on a Budget. Will it work, or is it just some hippified, tree hugging gimmick, let’s check it out:

Burson Audio HA160 Headphone Amp Review |

The term audiophile was known only to a select few up until recently. This audio elitist mentality was only perceivable to those capable of funding their audio addiction with very impressive bank rolls. Even if you were going to purchase yourself a mid-fi set up you were still looking at a price tag in and around the 10k mark. Don’t confuse my syntax, hi-end audio has not gotten any cheaper, in fact high end audio is reaching prices never before seen until now. What I am referring to is audiophile grade products that are actually achievable for the average user. Personal audio technology has finally reached the heights of a high end floor model system, without the floor model price tag. For under $3000 you can achieve the same listening experience that the elitist audiophiles have been enjoying for years, and they paid a lot more than $3K for their setups. Headphone amps like the Burson Audio HA160 make it possible for almost anyone to achieve high end sound on a budget. Let’s check it out:

While we were at CES 2010 we had a chance to sit down with some representatives from AMD and have a little chat. After said chat we where excited to hear that we would be receiving some product for review. A few weeks later and to our surprise we received the AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition. To start with we shocked that we were given their top of the line CPU only to be topped by being given an unlocked black edition. To put it simply we had some fun with this chip. I went and bought a new mother board and video card just to do the tests, thankfully Crucial provided the RAM. Anyways enough talk, let’s take a closer look at what this thing can do:

While we attended CES 2010 we were introduced and managed to get our hands on a few copies of some very interesting software that can make both large and small design projects quickly, easily, and with professional results. Print Shop 2.0 is great for both home and office use. In just minutes you can create things such as business cards to large banners, or greeting cards to calendars. Simply put this was a great find and I look forward to taking a closer look and seeing everything that this program has to offer:

There are thousands of laptop bags, carrying cases, cooler/case all in ones out there for your laptops and netbooks. Each company has their own little take on it and overall they are all pretty useful. One concept I am particularly fond of is the laptop backpack. TRENDNET has provided us with their take on mobile technology transportation with their version of the laptop backpack. Will this be the last bag you ever buy or will it flop like so many designs in the past? Let’s check it out together; personally I have been a fan of almost all the products we have used so far from TRENDNET so let’s hope their ingenuity copies over from their wireless capabilities to the newly tested waters of functional textiles:
