First off I would like to thank Ballistix for providing the ram specifically for this article I would also like to thank our affiliates techgage, overclockersclub, and hothardware for the use of their reviews. I also would like to thank bit-tech for a fantastic article on benefits of the various memory sets. So I will also focus again mainly on the board and memory. I love the Asus P6T SE it has an amazing amount of features for any user. I love the additions of real-time overclocking software and the pre bios post screen software for doing basic tasks like web browsing and the use of skype. The 3 PCI-E slots make expansion issues a thing of the past there is plenty of headroom on this board to play around with. 6 SATA ports is also an incredible amount of extra room. Of course you would see higher SATA port counts on work station but 6 is more than enough for the average user. Overclocking options through the bios are unbelievable; you can quite literally tweak every aspect of your PC to ensure peak performance. The Ballistix Tracers are a fantastic addition because the P6T has blue heatsinks and the addition of the blue heat spreader and the Blue LED’s make this combo pop. As for the performance I was very VERY impressed with Ballistix new DDR3 line of ram. Just about triple the bandwidth in some tests makes the jump from the q series platform to the new x58 a lot easier. Over clocking the Ballistics proved a lot easier with the Asus bios compared to the X48 boards I used in the past. Over all I must say the combo of the two made the jump to i7 a very pleasurable experience. Keep it up Asus and Crucial!
Normally we would do a pros and cons in this section but this was an article but I will give both the motherboard and the ram the fallowing award:
