PC peripherals have come a long way since the first 2 button no scroll wheel mice came on the market. Why do we need more buttons wheels and doo-dads? Because everyone knows the more buttons you have the cooler you are. Ok maybe we’ll go a little more scientific on this one. Mice are needed for a broader range of things then they were when they were first designed. With applications like gaming the need for multiple DPI and CPI settings are needed for optimal control and speed combination. The recent boom of media based PC coming on the market also made things hard for the little old 2 button ball mouse. Kingwin has addressed both of these needs in their KW-01 wireless mouse’s design so let’s get a good look at it and see how well it performed:

Conclusion:

Overall the Kingwin KW-012.4g Wireless Mouse performed beautifully as an all around mouse. I wouldn’t expect a mouse of this price range to perform the multiple features it did. The range was incredible and even though it wasn’t rechargeable it did have a switch which I liked because it greatly prolongs battery life.

Would I recommend this product? Sure it is great for all around use and it is very simple to setup. Even the most novice of users should have no issues using this mouse with expert proficiency. I find it hard not to recommend a mouse that not only performed the basic tasks of a mouse well but also had several well thought out extra’s you wouldn’t expect in any other $25 mouse.
