Closer Look:

The Logitech Curve headphones present a trend-oriented design straight from the packaging down to the behind-the-neck frame. The soft rubber loops above the earpieces fit comfortably over the tops of your ears for extended periods of listening or gaming, and the ear-padding does a good job of cushioning without getting in the way of the sound quality.

The package comes with the headphones and the manual. Logitech was also kind enough to include an extra set of ear loops, and an extra set of ear pads. Joy!

As you may have noticed in the picture below,  these headphones are built to fit behind the neck of the user. It bends slightly to promote ease of use and durability. A handy feature if you're the type of person who enjoys using non-fragile electronics.

We shall now proceed to the testing area:

Testing:

To evaluate these technological Logitech headphones, I performed three tests. The first two, consisted of listening to a variety of music in different genres, then movies. The final test was to see how well they shaped up while using them for computer gaming. We will be going through sound quality and personal opinion. Due to the fact these are not audiophile headphones the testing will be a bit simpler then previous headphone reviews. That being said, here we go!

 Music:

I'm sorry to say these headphones did little to improve my dancing skills, nevertheless I did find them to be very satisfying. They were kind enough to point out subtle differences in what I was hearing, and what I was supposed to be hearing. Compared to previous sets of headphones I have bought. I found these put particular clarity into guitar and vocal tracks. Tones such as those in stringed instruments came across smooth and clear. The bass delivered a satisfying thump. I did find hints of flatness in the deepest bass sounds, quick snaps and hits. This affected the quality of some techno songs marginally.

It's worth mentioning at this point that these headphones do not isolate you from sounds around you as well as earbuds are known to.

 Video:

The video was basically the same as the music quality. I found the sound that came through was very clear. I didn't even realize that my old set of headphones were giving me a faint feedback noise until I reviewed these. From intergalactic action scenes, to the quieter suspense scenes, these headphones didn't give me any static or anything. As with the music, some of the sounds in the videos I watched were new to me. The more I used these headphones, the more I realized what I was missing.

 Gaming:

Though not directly targeted at gamers, these headphones held up well for both pc and hand-held games. Their feel and quality immersed me in the entire gaming experience. This is exactly what I want when I'm gaming. The surrounding effect of the sound worked great, and overall, once again, I found they were all around more satisfying than my other headphones. Definitely a reasonable pair to use for videogames as well.

Conclusion:

Generally, I found the Logitech Curve Headphones presented a medium to high quality sound for gaming, videos, and music. They presented a few issues with flatness when it came to extended tones in certain techno songs. In other areas though they exceeded my expectations. The high notes were clear and dynamic, and the bass sounds were very satisfying. They're sporty enough to fit any purpose, whether you're listening to tunes on your hand-held device, or gaming at your desktop. They fit well and the thick padding does a good job of making you forget you're wearing them without muffling the quality of the sound at all.

When I considered all of this, the price just didn't seem possible. These were definitely not the "cheapies" I was expecting them to be. For this quality sound and comfort, I would have been expecting to pay another$20-30. They don't present the isolating effect that higher priced earbuds do, but if your looking to buy something in the lower price range, I would recommend these. If you're used to paying around $20-30 for a set, these will probably surprise you.

Pros:

  • Low Price
  • Good Quality Sound
  • Wide-Range of Uses
  • Good Looking
  • Durable
  • Different Colors Available
  • Extra Ear Loops and Ear Pads Included

Cons:

  • Flat Sounds Present In Some Tones
  • Wearing May Be Uncomfortable for Some

Taking all these factors into consideration, I award the Logitech Curve Headphones the Overclockers HQ Silver Award.
